Drs. Rick Bonnie
Rick Bonnie obtained his MA in Classical Archaeology at Leiden University, The Netherlands (cum laude 2008). His thesis was on the possibility of Roman cadastres in the Roman Northwest, especially the area around the provincial city of Tongres. The thesis was awarded the W.A. van Es-prize by the Dutch Institute for Cultural Heritage and was nominated for the Leiden University thesis prize 2007-2008. Currently, he is preparing a Ph.D. dissertation at the K.U.Leuven with a grant from the Research Foundation – Flanders. This dissertation will focus on the socio-cultural, political and economic developments in the region of Galilee (northern Israel) during the second century AD (an interest that already awakened during his BA thesis). His main focuses are: Greco-Roman, Jewish and Christian culture and society; Socio-cultural interaction; Material culture studies.
